The knob on the front is cast from Pewter and controls a light dimmer so the brightness can be adjusted. The light bulb is a carbon filament bulb with an edison screw fitting.
The housing is made from a native NZ wood with a copper base and rubber feet, the top is brass.

It has been a while since my last post But i have been quite busy working on several projects that are nearing compleation and when done I will be sure to post pictures of these.

I am also trying to organise a large steampunk/dark culture event in New Zealand in a rather unique location. we are at this stage looking at January or Febuary of next year.

Other things that I have finally finished are the t-shirt designs, these photos were taken years ago by me using electro photograpic process where an item was connected to a high foltage source and using a film type camera the image was captured.

I have now decided to release the images on t-shirts and later may look at getting some other prints made up as well as adding other objects.

*A Steampunk events in Auckland, New Zealand.
I hope to be attending and will see what pictures I can get.
This event occurs in one of our museums, and they will run the locomotives, steam engines, and the beam engine (apparently the last of its kind) and trams.
If the event is a success they are looking to make it a regular event.

Although this is still a work in progress I have decided to post some of the build techniques used for the various components. As the project build gets closer to completion I will reveal what the finished item is however until then here is a little hint :)
